Anesthesia: General anaesthesia
In/Outpatient: Inpatient
Length of surgery: 1 to 3 hours
Recovery: Most of our patients are able to return to work within 1 to 2 weeks, and social or travel activities can be resumed after the 2 week period. Strenuous activities and excessive sun exposure should be avoided for up to 6 weeks, and Dr. Tim will give you advice for having a smooth and easy recovery period.
Duration of results: Rhinoplasty patients typically see final results within 3 months, with subtle changes continuing through the first year. As long as general care of the nose is maintained, results should be permanent.
Dr. Tim and every member of his experienced team are dedicated to providing you with the most comprehensive and comfortable surgical process possible. During your consultation, Dr. Tim will help you to customize your procedure to enhance your nose while preserving the unique character of your face. He will also answer any questions concerning procedures that could help you enhance your results, like face implants.
Dr. Tim also created an innovative express recovery process that helps to improve comfort following surgery. Using a series of innovative techniques, Dr. Tim minimizes trauma during the procedure so scarring and discomfort are reduced.
In Sydney, rhinoplasty patients have a number of options for enhancing and reshaping their noses. Surgery begins with an incision on the inside of the nose (closed procedure) or across the columella (open procedure) to allow Dr. Tim to begin reshaping. Augmentation can require the use of cartilage from another part of the body, but this and other options will be discussed during your consultation.
You may also want to consider the use of a complementary procedure to create more natural looking results. Dr. Tim commonly performs rhinoplasty with another surgery such as liposuction under the chin for a more sculpted appearance.
You can expect to see final results within 3 months to a year of surgery. This will vary depending on the extent of your surgery and any complementary procedures. You will have ample time during your consultation to learn more about final results and what to expect from your procedure and recovery.
